Well,we are in the midst of house hunting. A very casual hunt seeing as we are quite happy where we are, but I feel like this is not our permanent place. We went to Bluffdale to look at a foreclosure there. It had most of the things we have wanted. It needs a lot of clean up since it was foreclosed on and uninhabited for the last year. It had an amazing barn. It is really fun to go house hunting because the kids love to explore each new place. That makes it much more enjoyable instead of juggling bored kidlets.
Yesterday we took Johno to his kindergarten back to school night. I was as giddy as he was. We met his teacher, Mrs. McCann, and she had us do a treasure hunt around the room. Things like find the blocks and build a tower, find your desk, find your cubby, etc. We went and played on the kindergarten playground and bumped into many families from our neighborhood/ward. I adore Johno and I think he'll really thrive in school.

Music to My Ears
I ran to Costco today to get some salad ingredients for our annual Summer Salad Social for Relief Society. While I was there I saw these introductory reader books. I have been thinking and praying for ways to stimulate Johno's mind. He is so bright and curious and enthusiastic about learning. He reminds me a lot of John. Anyway, I brought them home and told Johno that I bought him some very special books that were only for him, BUT that instead of John and I reading them to him he would be reading them to us. A few minutes later he had them in his hands and came into the kitchen where I was loading the dishwasher. He pulled the first book out and, without an assistance from me, read the whole book. He sounded each word out, understood what he read and you could just see the satisfaction on his face. I was just so delighted and felt very privileged to be a part of this milestone. He then read another one when John sat down with them at bedtime and another one after we put them to bed. What a kid--he will really go far, I believe.
